When you search for link exchanges partner,remember to search within and around your industry - don't just ask anyone!
Its generally thought that exchanging links outside your websites industry doesn't really help with your search engine rankings, but that doesn't mean you have to asking link from your competition. Be a little tenuous and request exchanges from similar websites and companies. e.g.. If you run a making money blogging site then search at exchanging links with other make money affiliate site. Maybe finding a blog related SEO and online auction sites also help in boosting your PR since that are related to the industry.
Follow Up Exchange Requests
Remember to follow up all your link exchange requests and let people know what you want to do even if you don't want to exchange with them. If you answer private messages within a few days it usually increases the chance of a successful exchange.
